If you are looking for a paint mixer, you are probably looking for one of two things. Either you’ve already bought your paint, and you are looking to keep it from coagulating; or you are trying to make paint, and you’re looking for the finest grind this side of Tang. Either way, we’ve got you covered.

Keeping Your Paint Stirred

Back in the day, if you wanted to mix paint, you’d have to take the lid off your container, grab a wooden stick, and get after it like you live in an Amish Paradise. However, inventions came around that would allow you to mix the paint with an electric mixer, but you’d still have to take the lid off. This was a fine way to mix, but unfortunately it left your paint open to evaporation and contamination.

Finally, humanity figured out a way to get a mixer into a 5-gallon bucket through the bung-hole of a bucket lid thanks to the advent of the folding impeller. The impeller’s “wings” fold up so that you can stick the impeller into the mixer. Once you start the mixer, the blades unfold and things get mixing.

If you’re looking for a folding impeller that will fit a two inch NPT, we have both a four inch and a seven inch impeller that will meet your needs. If you have a six inch NPT, we have 10, 12, and 14 inch impellers that will fit.

Now the question is what do you have to attach that folding impeller to. Well, if you are working with a five gallon bucket, I’d suggest the pail mount mixer. The mount can adjust so that it fits either a center opening or a side opening. The shaft and the impellers have a quick disconnect so you can take it apart and clean it when you need to.

Mixing Paint From Scratch

Now, if you’re thinking, “That’s great and all, but I’m actually making paint,” we’ve got something for you as well.

For particle dispersion, we have our dispersion blades. We have standard dispersion blades as well as high flow dispersion blades, and also ultra high shear dispersion blades. If you are trying to get the finest grind possible for your paint, you’ll probably want the ultra high shear.

In terms of mixing apparatuses, we have a line of mixers called “DP.” We have DP1s through DP5s. With out products, the higher the number the more horsepower and the bigger the size. With all of our DP models, changing out the blades is a breeze with our simple, single-step impeller change design. Every model is available in an explosion proof version if you’re working with something that might remove your eyebrows if you light a match.
